it's always fun at grandma's house

We love going to see Grandma and Papa. This was Rogans first trip to Montana, and boy did he have a good time.
First on our agenda, however, was house shopping. Although we went in excited with a positive attitude, it didn't take long for that to change. Obviously we weren't expecting to find our dream home, as this is the kind of add we we're going by: (I apologize to sister for lack of pictures, and yes, I do regret not taking any to prove the point of this add.)
"The bottom of the barrel is what this is. We tried to avoid advertising this but we just couldn't wait any longer. Sure it has 2 homes and sure it's in a decent neighborhood, but beyond this, there's nothing else positive. To say it has been neglected would be a compliment. You can't miss with this as we are selling for rock bottom prices! What an investment if your not afraid of some work."
That being said, lets just say they couldn't have said it any better. We didn't look at that particular "investment", but we didn't need to. We love the style of these pre and early 1900 homes, but the bottom of the barrel is what they all were, and we decided the rock bottom prices weren't quite as far down in the barrel as the houses were.
So, back to Grandma's it was. Britt wanted a pony ride and, thanks to her, I actually took advantage of being back home and got in a short ride myself.
Rogan got to watch Chad tame the wild beast before putting his wife on her. Notice how calm the horse whisperer remains while she wildly flails her body about.

Britt got her ride, and thanks to Chads master skill, her life was spared.
The husband also rode, but seeing as he is the picture taker in this relationship, I have no proof. I am kicking myself in the pants.
We had so much fun, we decided to stay an extra day. And on top of that, the boys tore apart the house, so we would have an excuse to go back next week! But for now, the rog-myster needs some r&r. We got him home after a long drive and he collapsed on the living room floor, drooling all the while.

springy spring springity ding

I know, its been a while. And the boy is getting sooo big! He's talking more than ever, and is always full of smiles. It was such a nice day, we took the top off the jeep and went for a nice drive up the mountain to the castle. Of course, being the awesome mom that I am, I forgot the camera. The boy spent a good majority of the day with no clothes. He loves summer!

This one LOVES any little bit of attention we give him. He raced circles around the yard 100 mph (those of you who knew mattie...you know what I'm talking about). He went absolutely bisurk today. And we found flowers!

After wrestling with his keys, Rogan finally got in his pjs and settled down for bed. He really wanted to stay up and play, but in no time at all, he crashed. Fell asleep that is.

Yesterday wasn't quite as warm, so with the top on (the jeep) we went fishing. The boy slept through most of this, and we didn't catch a single fish (we did see a dead one) but it was a nice spring morning activity.

good morning!

We woke up chipper and full of energy this morning.

Well, at least he did. Some of weren't as chipper as others. Or full of energy.

But it's a lot easier to get there when you have the most adorable baby in the world grinning at you.
