We made it! After what seems like thousands of doctors appointments, we have made it to 2 months!
(kya at a couple days old)
(kya at 2 months. look how she's grown! Weighing in today at 8 lbs 7 oz)
Have I ever told you the story of Kya?
First-the pregnancy. I tell you what, this girl likes attention.
What started out as a second ultrasound due to a mild case of placenta previa, turned in to finding out she wasn't growing!(but hey- the other problem corrected itself!)
So, on to ultrasound #3 with a specialist, then another follow up ultrasound. YAY! She's growing again! Just slowly. So from here on out, weekly ultrasounds. Then, 1 week before my due date, Dr decided to induce me so we could get her fed and get some real meat on her bones. We went in thursday night, and what was supposed to be an all night process turned in to a couple hours and my water broke. Dr was ready to deliver at 7am.
Baby girl (still unnamed at this point) was born quick at a gargantuous 5 lbs 1 oz. Her checkup was the following monday where we learned Kya (now named) was jaundice, and had dropped to 4 lbs 7oz.
boo.
SO, back to the hospital we went, where the poor little girl was poked and prodded and sunbathing where we also learned she was dehydrated and needed to go on an IV. But boy did the weight start coming on quick then! So after 2 days, she looked great and we got to go back home! YAY!
(Kya about 1 week)
But wait! Some of her blood tests came back abnormal. (positive for a polymorphism in the ACADS gene for those drs reading this (a metabolic disorder))
Booooooo
But wait again! The Drs think its most likely a false positive, so we'll just test again. More poking and prodding.
Abnormal again.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
But wait! There's chance its still wrong! We will test again, this time a genetic test, to be sure. More poking and prodding.
Over a month later, still waiting for the results.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
(kya about 6 weeks)
But the good news is other than this unknown, she is chubby, healthy, happy, and growing like a weed!
(Kya 2 months)
This much attention would wear anyone out. even those that crave it.....
(kya 2 months)
HAPPY 2 MONTHS TO OUR LITTLE MUNCHKIN!!!!
