latest creation

During hunting season, once the little ones are sound asleep, I have a lot of late night quiet time on my hands.
This is my latest creation thanks to that time.

This hunting season I have spent my quiet nights in the world of crochet. I finally finished the biggest of my several random projects. While its far from perfect, I kind of like it!

The Birds

I attempted this bird mobile for the girl out of her quilt scraps.
The photos aren't very good, but hopefully you get the idea.
This will be Kya's view. I realize that normally one would avoid sleeping under such circumstances.
We may find she has a fear of The Birds when she is older.

for the girl

I have been having so much fun finding ways to use up various fabric scraps. These little onsies are among my latest projects. We'll see how they hold up to all the washings....

AND! we just learned today: one way or another, little sister will be here by the end of the week!

Rogans Horse

Rogan wanted a brown horse.
So I made this funny looking little creature. He named him Pumpkin.
He loves it. Hopefully it holds up to him.

tree hunting

We started off this years tree hunt my making approximately  1 million salt dough ornaments, which the boy carefully hand painted.
Then off to the woods we went, hunting for the ultimate tree.
We found a tree that fit our extremely high standards, and from there Darth took over to get it home.
And the dad hauled the boy home.
but took advantage of the big hill on the way and hopped on for a ride himself...
We got the tree home, and the boy loaded it full of his beautiful decorations...
And has happily been sitting and watching the train ever since.

This weeks treat(s)

The boy has been working on some of his favorite recipes just for you...

First, he whipped up some of his favorite play-dough cookies...

And then he perfected his delicious alphabet muffins...

Enjoy!

Christmas Weekend

We started off our festivities with some gingerbread construction.

We decided to let the boy be head foreman.

That may or may not have been a mistake (depends on how you look at it)...

But he loved every minute of it.

We played in the sun...

...until our noses were numb.

But still went back in the warm house kicking and screaming.

Now the presents were all gone...

...so we got dressed up for church.
And then we slept and slept and slept.

My latest creation

aside from this little guy, (who can roll to and from his side now!applause). (Look how big he's getting!)
would be this cute little find from DI. Used to be pukey pink, now brilliant black. Don't look too close, as my painting skills are not up to par. However, from a distance, I kinda like the little fellow.

AND.... check out this springy spring sunset we had last night.
I LOVE SPRING!!!

It seemed like a good idea....

Between the sad little runs and crooked stripes, this poor little project wasn't quite what I expected. But I do think the design itself had some potential....

And this sad little table followed the man home from California. It, too, has sad little runs. Good thing these weren't expensive antiques....

But this one is soo cute, maybe no one will notice the other two...

Fresh Paint, Fresh Mud

Not so long ago, the man of the house found this cute little jeep.
After some elbow grease and some long hours of tlc...

...it evolved into this narly beast.

The trial run.....

The real deal....

Chadilac and Tysonator spent the day with their real true loves.

Awwww....BFF
