The girl turned 1!!!

She is such a happy girl- and Rogan has already taught her his strange sense of humor.
We're going to have our hands full.

The gramma got some great pictures of her big day...

Besides birthday partying we've just been playing...

 

He made a snowman...and was pretty excited about it.

It was in the 50s that day. The poor guy had a short life...

 

We also did the easter thing. The snow is melting fast and the weather was awesome so we dyed eggs outside. The Mountain Man sold his archery shop so he could focus on his Kwik-Shooter business. We don't know what to do with all his free nights, and he even got to dye eggs with us! 

Easter day we ate a delicious dinner at the castle, followed by a quick trip to the emergency room.

Because whats a beautiful spring day without a trip to the hospital?

Rogan slipped and hit his head. Hard.

The lump on the back of his head looked something like a black and blue easter egg.

For real.

But he's ok. He got to lay on ice in the hospital and watch some college basketball for a n hour or so.

And was back to his crazy self that night.

And boy are we glad!

This one just got over a cold and is loving being back outside in the snow with his best bud.

This one still has the cold, and is currently sleeping it off. The girl likes her sleep.

Christmas

Does anyone else get a little bit depressed when Christmas is over?

We had a good Christmas. Holidays are 1 million times better with kids.

Kya was the first one up, and before I could feed her, she headed straight for her new toy from Santa.

Rogan slept until 9:30! WHAT?! This kid rarely sleeps past 7. So we all sat on the couch waiting for him to get up. He was a bit (a lot) disappointed Santa brought him the wrong firetruck and Santa felt like the worst Santa ever, but he got over it pretty quick when he realized how much more awesome this one was.

He LOVES his big tractor from Gramma and Papa.

And this one wasn't sure why she was excited, but she was.

She was perfectly happy eating plastic while the rest of us tore away at wrapping paper.

 

She is such a sweet girl.

Before heading up on "the hill" to go sledding we got in a quick game of mouse trap. 

He liked it.

Santa Came to Town

His first glimpse of the man in red....

Rogan told him all the things he wanted.... Among the list was a fire truck, a monster truck and a backhoe...

He had to think for a while to make sure he listed everything...

Kya wasn't to crazy about the jolly old fellow (why does it look like his beard is attacking him? maybe thats what she was unsure of...?)

She didn't tell him what she wants this year...

This one is getting more and more out of control every day.

And this one takes his cookie decorating VERY seriously.

He started out extra careful.

Spreading just enough frosting; sprinkling a few pretty little sprinkles.

But it soon got a bit out of hand.

And VERY messy. But boy did he have fun!

So on Sunday we realized that we needed a Christmas tree, and that it needed to happen right then, or we probably wouldn't have another day to do it. So on our way home from grandma and grandpa's house, we stopped the car and Rogan and the dad went off into the forest to find one quickly. By into the forest I mean 20ft off the road. maybe. Rogan found one and said it was so pretty and made him so happy, so this is the trophy we ended up with. And I love it.

The boy is SO excited about Christmas this year. He woke up the other night and said "I think I heard Santa saying "Ho, Ho, Ho" in the sky!"

And the girl...she is pulling herself up on EVERYTHING lately. she is ready to walk. It wont be much longer...

Rogan put the star on the tree.

But we quickly decided it was a hazard, and took it off.

And this is the finished project. I should probably get a better picture. But this one looks like its melting.

And I would just like the records to show that today is December 6th, and there is NO, yes I said NO, snow in our yard. WHAT!?

And speaking of Dec 6th...Happy Birthday Britt!

8 Months and a Happy Thanksgiving

Over Thanksgiving, this baby girl had her 8 month birthday. She's just so darn cute. (Mom, I may or may not have stole a couple of pictures from you. Meaning, I stole these two pictures. Thanks.)

She is also the same size as her just over 2 month old cousin. She weighed in at 14 lbs 7 oz. Just 2 lbs heavier that little Luke(probably not anymore though). 25in tall. But there is TONS of happiness and so many smiles in that tiny little package.

We had a chance to hike Crown Butte after we ate WAY too much. 

It was so much fun! Rogan was pretty tired by the time we were done. OK, he was pretty tired before we got to the top. He said next time maybe he would not go with us. But he does like looking at the pictures.

What a view! I forgot what an awesome view it is from up there. What a gorgeous place.

Look! There is no sign of civilization to be seen. If you can ignore the wind it is such a peaceful place.
