today

Today was a day. A wonderful day. A day to be very, VERY excited about.
Was it because the boy quietly watched cartoons for an hour so the mom could sleep?
no (although, that was quite exciting)
Was it because it is the man's last night of work for the week?
No (but that also is a wonderful thing)
Today was an awesome day because I received the phone call I have been waiting on for over two months. Two long, tiring, worried months.
Today we learned that our new little tiny does not have polymorphism of the ACADS gene (see her story here).
In other words, today we learned her tests came back negative, and we know she is healthy and happy.
Today is a day to celebrate.
So please do.
And never take for granted the joy of having a happy, healthy, chubby baby.

do-over

It was a warm day. The snow glistening in the chipper morning sun. The easter bunny had come, and the children's giggles could be heard in the distance.A disturbing noise suddenly shattered the still easter morn.
squirt
splatter
splash
WHAT?!
Thats right. Thats exactly what it was. All over his brand new white outfit. Not much sooner and it would have been in front of hundreds of people, and a microphone would have been involved.

So for those who missed the photo op, here are a few. A redo. A do-over. A white outfit and a freshly cleansed baby. And although not as creative as if sister had been able to capture the moment, at least there is no bright yellow and fowl smells involved.

And the outfit was saved.
